Mattamy Homes is recognized as North America’s largest privately-owned home builder with 90,000 homeowners in hundreds of communities.
Mattamy Homes only recently entered the Tucson market. In 2015, Mattamy was the successful bidder to purchase 173 acres from the City of Tucson along the west side of Houghton Road just south of Irvington Road. This Property was always intended for development.
The challenges included incorporating the Tucson Water SHARP recharge facility to the east and ensuring the long-term success of both the new residential development and the mountain biking park called Fantasy Island.
Lazarus, Silvyn & Bangs worked with Mattamy to closely coordinate the zoning entitlement process to successfully entitle 319 acres of property under the Houghton Road Holdings PAD. This PAD not only entitled the 173-acre residential project for Mattamy, but also established 106 acres of Fantasy Island as a regulatory park and included 40 acres of the Tucson Water SHARP recharge facility within the regulatory framework.
